Flying in St. Moritz is more than a moment - it’s a carefully guided alpine experience. Here’s how your tandem paragliding journey unfolds, step by step, from first contact to landing back on solid ground.

Before Your Flight

Each flight is carefully planned around the day’s wind conditions to offer the smoothest and most beautiful experience possible. Paragliding in the Alps is a partnership with nature and every flight window is unique. Because paragliding depends on alpine microclimatesflexibility with timing helps ensure your flight takes place when conditions are at their best — calm, safe and unforgettable.

Your pilot will contact you via WhatsApp Message the evening before your flight (after 21:00), once the final Engadin wind forecast is available. Considering your preferred time, current wind data and weight, your pilot will determine the ideal take-off site and time window for the best lift and comfort. Lighter and heavier passengers require slightly different wind strengths, so your exact flight time is chosen to match you perfectly to the day’s wind conditions. For same-day bookings, we’ll confirm your flight details shortly after your reservation.

Meeting Point

The exact take-off site depends on the wind direction. Your pilot will always determine the most suitable mountain for the smoothest and safest conditions based on the current wind situation and your weight alignment.

You’ll meet your pilot at the ticket office of the chosen station, ready to take the cable car to the take-off point.

Common meeting points include:

Surlej / Corvatsch Ticket Office — for Corvatsch flights

Punt Muragl Ticket Office — for Muottas Muragl flights

Lagalb Ticket Office — for Lagalb flights

Take-Off

At the launch area, your pilot will prepare and inspect all equipment before giving you a calm, clear briefing on safety and take-off technique. Sometimes we wait a few moments for the perfect wind and then, when it’s time: check, run... and you lift off smoothly from the ground.

If you have friends or family joining you, they’re best advised to wait at the landing site. Because take-off and landing happen on different sites, it’s not possible to reach both in time and the most joyful moments are usually shared right after landing.

Most common landing sites:

Surlej - for Corvatsch flights (Google Maps)

Punt Muragl - for Muottas Muragl flights (Google Maps)

Lagalb - for Lagalb flights (Google Maps)

The Flight – Pure Enjoyment

Once airborne, you’ll glide silently above alpine peaks, forests and lakes. Relax, breathe and take in the view. Your pilot will capture photos and videos during the flight so you can relive the experience later.

If you like, you can even take the controls for a moment under your pilot’s supervision or simply enjoy the calm, meditative feeling of soaring through alpine air. Each flight is adapted to your wishes and comfort level.

For those seeking more adventure, a limited number of upgrades are available such as double airtime, smooth aerobatic maneuvers like wingovers and loops or 360° video captures for an immersive memory. These options can be booked directly at checkout or, when wind and scheduling allow, added spontaneously with your pilot before take-off.

Every flight tells its own story - guided by wind, precision and the moment.

Landing

Landing is gentle and simple. Since we touch down against the wind, only a few easy steps are needed. Depending on the wind direction, the pilot may choose a different landing area.

What to Bring & Requirements

  • Hiking or mountain shoes with good grip are preferred
  • Long trousers, warm or windproof jacket, gloves and sunglasses
  • Basic walking ability and the ability to run a few steps
  • Avoid heavy meals or liquids 2-3 hours before your flight to prevent motion sickness
  • Minimum weight: 30 kg
  • Maximum weight: 110 kg

Insurance & Safety

In Switzerland, paragliding is considered a regular air sport, not an extreme one. Accidents are extremely rare and the activity is subject to strict national safety standards. In most cases, participation is covered by your personal accident insurance - we recommend confirming with your provider if unsure. Any justified claims are covered by your pilot’s professional liability insurance. All our full-time pilots are licensed, insured and highly experienced in alpine flying. Safety briefings, equipment checks and wind analysis are an integral part of every flight, because peace of mind is where true freedom begins.

Cancellation & Flexibility

If you need to cancel, please let us know at least 48 hours before your scheduled flight by sending a WhatsApp message or emailing us at fly@stmoritz-paragliding.com. Later cancellations are subject to a full charge and are non-refundable.

Because paragliding depends on alpine microclimate conditions, flights may occasionally be rescheduled by your pilot to ensure safety and the most enjoyable experience. These decisions are based on forecast wind data, thermal lift and passenger weight alignment - never for minor changes in cloud or sunlight.

In the event of non-flyable conditions, your flight will simply be moved to the next suitable day or time. Your booking always remains valid, and we only fly when the Engadin sky is truly ready for you.
